Patent Suggests Future Apple Pencil Would Sample Real World Colors

Ioshackz.com Patent Suggests Future Apple Pencil Would Sample Real-World Colors According to an Apple patent application published by the US Patent and Trademark Office this week, Apple is exploring a new Apple Pencil technology that would enable;e a device to sample colors in the real world for use in digital art, painting, editing, and other scenarios.

The patent is titled “Computer System With Color Sampling Stylus” and describes a computing stylus that “may have a color sensor”. The color sensor would be implemented with multiple photodetectors, which can measure channel lights of various colors that will enable it to detect and sample colors from real-world objects (such as flowers).

The stylus could also be featured with illuminators to make it easier for the photodetector to accurately determine the color. The remaining patent describes an Apple Pencil-like design with a slender body, a pen tip, and an opposite end. The tip can be attained using sensitive displays.

With this technology, future Apple Pencil users will be able to perform operations such as reading colors. The stylus will detect the color and place it in the palette of the drawing program, where the color can be assigned to the brush.

Apple also suggested that the color sensor may also be used for other purposes, such as calibrating displays, printers synchronization, making health-related measurements, and identifying paint colors for household items.

Of course, whether Apple Pencil will add a color sensor in the future is still unknown, but at least this technology allows us to peek into Apple’s future plans.
