Ioshackz.com CIRP: iPhone 11 Models Remain The Most Popular, iPhone SE 2020 Is Successful Apple no longer announces the specific sales details of each of its iPhone models, but a new report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners recently allows us to get a general understanding of the sales of each iPhone model.
CIRP’s data shows that the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro accounted for about two-thirds of US iPhone sales in the second quarter, and the sales of these two models were quite even, compared to the second quarter of 2019 when the cheaper iPhone XR accounted for 65% of US iPhone sales.
The report also noted that the sales of the 2020 iPhone SE were really strong. Although sales started at the end of April, the device accounted for 19% of the US iPhone sales this quarter.
‘Every few years Apple comes out with a new low-priced iPhone, with up-to-date features, to sweep up the customers using the oldest iPhones,’ said Mike Levin, CIRP partner and cofounder. ‘iPhone SE seems to have reached this specific segment of long-time iPhone users.’
‘Even though operating system switching has diminished in recent years, even more SE buyers came from within the iOS installed base compared to buyers for other iPhone models. And, in the quarter, SE buyers had really old phones, with almost three-quarters having an iPhone that was three years old or more. So, they upgraded from iPhone 5, 6, or 7 models, which meant these users really waited awhile to buy a new phone.’
Reviews of the iPhone SE 2020 have published by leading technology news outlets and tech YouTubers, with critics, giving the budget iPhone positive reviews, touting its flagship performance, has everything you need, and believes that this is the best budget smartphone in 2020.
