Apple said in an email statement confirming the message: “Inclusion and diversity are core Apple values and we deeply believe the most diverse teams are the most innovative teams. Christie Smith will be leaving Apple to spend more time with her family and we wish her well.”

According to Apple, Smith’s departure plan was completed two months ago, but Bloomberg’s sources said Tuesday was her last day at work. Her LinkedIn account has also been updated to reflect changes in employment status, but Apple has not appointed a replacement.
