Apple Said To Reveal ARM Mac Plans At Its WWDC

Ioshackz.com Apple Said To Reveal ARM Mac Plans At Its WWDC Event On June 22 Apple plans to announce the move to Mac machines with ARM processors at its virtual WWDC event on the 22nd of this month, reports Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The report said that the first ARM-based Mac will be released in 2021, and Apple intends to eventually upgrade all models of Mac to ARM processors, including laptops and desktops.

Compared with Macs that use Intel processors, ARM-based Macs have several advantages, such as more powerful performance and lower energy consumption. At the same time, Apple no longer needs to rely on Intel and can update the Mac according to its own development progress.

Mark Gurman said that Apple is developing at least three Mac processors, one of which is based on the A14 chip in the iPhone 12. Apple’s first Mac processor will utilize a 12-core design, including 8 high-performance cores and 4 energy-efficient cores. In the future, Apple will also explore Mac processors with more than 12 cores, and the second-generation Mac processors will be based on next year’s A15 chip.

TSMC will continue to serve as Apple’s Mac ARM processor production partner and will adopt its latest industry-leading 5nm process.
