Ioshackz.com Apple Is Said To Delay iPhone 12 And New iPad Models Launch To October
Qualcomm announced its third-quarter financial report yesterday and also shared some expectations for the next quarter. In this report, the chipmaker suggested that with the delay of 5G flagship smartphones, they are expected it will affect Q4 shipments. Qualcomm, accordingly, hinted that the iPhone 12 may be postponed.
Meanwhile, according to Twitter leaker Jon Prosser, Apple’s new iPhone 12 and iPad models will launch in October. And it looks like there is more than one iPad.
If true, this is not an unprecedented move by Apple. The company released the iPhone X in September 2017 but did not go on sale until November. A similar situation happened with the iPhone XR in 2018, which was released in September but not went on sale in October.
Apple’s iPhone 12 models will all be shipped with a 5nm A14 chip. Due to improved thermal management, the chip is expected to be faster and battery efficient. With the A14 chip, Apple would focus on stimulating artificial intelligence and AR tasks through the neural engine.
Rumors have suggested that the A14 chip will not be expected to be shipped on a large scale until August. TSMC is expected to prepare 80 million A14 chips for the Apple iPhone 12 lineup this year.
In terms of RAM, the cheaper 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 models will have 4GB of RAM, while the high-end 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro models will have 6GB of RAM.
