Ioshackz.com 120Hz Display Likely Won’t Arrive On The iPhone 12 Due To Issues With Driver ICS iPhone 12 Pro is likely to be delayed as suppliers struggle to deliver 120Hz displays that will be used on Apple’s smartphones, according to Ross Young, an analyst who specializes in the display industry.
Young claimed that despite the 120Hz Pro panels is available for grab, the matter is there appears to be a shortage for120Hz driver ICS. This, in turn, would delay the launch possibly significantly or launch with 60Hz, and the analyst says that he is hearing Apple might as well launch with 60Hz instead.
Leaker Jon Prosser also commented on this subject, he infers Apple is still testing the ProMotion, Apple’s name for their 120Hz display, behind the scenes. Prosser believes that such a technology would be exclusive to the iPhone 12 Pro models, namely the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. “120Hz is working just fine, with a manual toggle in settings on the iPhone 12 Pro Max,” asserts the Tech YouTuber.
Apple has previously introduced the ProMotion technology on iPad Pro models, and by utilizing it, the device itself will be able to dynamically adapt the display to the movement of content, resulting in more fluid scrolling, smoother motion, and improved responsiveness
Rumors have it that the feature will incorporate in the iPhone 12 Pro. Jon has also beforehand discussed the probability of iPhone 12 Pro models sporting ProMotion displays.
Other smartphone vendors have been developing and applying the 120Hz displays onto their machines, for example, OnePlus introduced their 120Hz phones list, OnePlus 8 Pro, this year, same for Samsung, with the South Korea-based technology giant announced the Samsung Galaxy S20 featuring a 120Hz refresh rate screen.
